About the Project

In an ongoing effort to provide quality wireless service, Verizon Wireless has identified your community as one that will benefit from improved network coverage.

Milestone Towers is proposing a wireless telecommunications facility at Patrick County High School, addressed 215 Cougar Lane, Stuart, VA 24171.

The proposal is for a 197-foot monopole and will include ground equipment required to operate the facility.

This equipment will be located at the base of the structure in a secure fenced area. Verizon Wireless will be the first wireless carrier to locate on the proposed tower.

Update #5:  We will move forward with the Community Balloon Fly on SATURDAY, December 2nd from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Update #4: Based on community feedback, the location of the tower has moved.  It is now over 550 feet from a school building and over 150 feet from the original location.  Original and new location are shown above.

COMMUNITY BALLOON FLY: On Saturday, December 2nd from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm we will be holding a second community balloon fly.  A balloon will be flown at the new location and height to provide a visual reference for the tower.

(In case of bad weather the balloon fly will be rescheduled for Sunday December 3rd from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The decision will be made based on the weather forecast and posted here on the Home Page by 6 pm Friday, December 1st.)

Update #3: Please click here to view the online Town Hall presentation held Thursday, August 24th.

Below are links to the information shared during the community meeting.  In addition, DMB Engineering completed an electromagnetic (radio frequency) exposure analysis for the proposed tower site at Patrick County HS.  The report concludes that the tower site with Verizon and future wireless carriers installed will be in compliance with the US federal human exposure limits by a wide margin.  The PDF version of the report is available for review here.
